Abu Areef Foundation, a community development foundation dedicated to empowering communities and fostering positive change, held its maiden General Meeting for all appointees on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Nguru Local Government, Yobe State.The gathering aimed to foster teamwork, share ideas, and garner input in preparation for the formal physical launch of the foundation.

We are apolitical, non-tribal, and non-sectional, committed to serving humanity without bias or prejudice. Our sole focus is on empowering communities, fostering positive change, and promoting sustainable development.

The meeting commenced with an opening prayer led by Nura Hamisu, Director of Educational Support, followed by a round of self-introductions by all attendees. Habu Salisu, Secretary General of the foundation, delivered a warm welcome address, setting the tone for a productive discussion.

Amb. Abubakar Ibn Usman Nguru, CYA Founder and Chairman/CEO of the foundation, presented a comprehensive overview of Abu Areef Foundation’s vision and mission. The floor was subsequently opened for attendees to share their thoughts and ideas, sparking a lively exchange of strategic insights.

The meeting was marked by engaging discussions, education, and interaction, with a focus on driving the foundation’s successful launch and contributing to the development of communities, Yobe State, and the country at large.

In a fitting conclusion, Mariya Ibrahim Danyaro, Director of Charity Support, delivered inspiring and encouraging closing remarks. The meeting drew to a close with a prayer led by Sani Sabo Garbi, Vice Chairman of the Foundation.

This maiden meeting signifies a crucial step towards Abu Areef Foundation’s formal launch, underscoring the organization’s commitment to collaborative leadership and community development.
